What Jose Mourinho told Man Utd's players in dressing room after Huddersfield

Safe to say Jose Mourinho was not impressed with what he saw from his Manchester United players against Huddersfield on Saturday.
Despite entering the game unbeaten in the Premier League, the Red Devils slumped to a 2-1 defeat having gone 2-0 down inside 33 minutes.

Everywhere on the pitch United were second best. Romelu Lukaku looked lethargic up front, the midfield was bereft of creativity and defensively - well, they were terrible.
Victor Lindelof's 23rd-minute arrival didn't go to plan, with United's £30 million summer signing at fault for both of Huddersfield's goals.

But the blame couldn't just be shelved on Lindelof, because he wasn't helped by his teammates in the slightest.
Jose Mourinho made no bones about his feelings towards his players in a post-match interview, saying their attitudes were all terrible.

More worryingly still, Mourinho said he had never seen them so unmotivated for a game as before Huddersfield - not exactly the mentality of Premier League champions.
United will attempt to make amends for the past couple of weeks when they host Tottenham at Old Trafford on Sunday.



Spurs are in phenomenal form at the moment and most recently thrashed Liverpool 4-1, courtesy of yet another Harry Kane brace.
An important week awaits United, then, but according to the Mirror, Mourinho demanded his players do something first before any preparations begin to face Tottenham.

A furious Mourinho reportedly told his players in the dressing room to explain to their fans why they showed such little fight against Huddersfield and why they were second to each and every ball.
Mourinho clearly feels the fans deserve an explanation after such a dour performance and now Juan Mata has given one.



"We didn’t play a good game and we came back home with no points," said the Spaniard. "We knew this moment would arrive sooner or later, although that's something you never wish, of course.
"Now it's time to learn from mistakes and keep going, as we always do, showing that the team sticks together when things don't go so well, which is when we need it most.

"Huddersfield played their cards better than us and took the three points. All we have to do now is congratulate them and carry on; this is a not a sprint but a marathon and there's still a long way to go."
