Pregnant Ladies in Ghana take Bleaching Tablets to lighten Pores and skin of their Infants – BBC Report




According to reports from BBC News, women in Ghana have been taking bleaching capsules in a bid to lighten the skin of their unborn kids.

BBC reports that the ladies have been warned against the rising trend as a result of the unlawful drugs may cause delivery defects, together with damage to limbs and internal organs.


This is coming only a few weeks after Ghana was in the headlines for disqualifying candidates for jobs in the immigration service  in the event that they bleached skin or stretch marks,.

BBC additionally reports that the capsules are sometimes smuggled into the nation inside baggage at airports in massive portions and that security agencies and police are working collectively to arrest and prosecute companies and people in possession of the illegal tablets.
