Ander Herrera comments on relationship with Jose Mourinho after Huddersfield spat

Manchester United started the season like a house on fire, but last week's loss to Huddersfield brought them crashing back down to reality.
Jose Mourinho's men fell to a 2-1 defeat at the Kirklees Stadium to record their first loss of the campaign in all competitions.

According to reports, Mourinho was less than happy after the game and proceeded to tear into his players.
After the game, Ander Herrera essentially admitted that United had been second best to the Terriers on Saturday and the home side wanted it more.
The Special One did not take too kindly to the Spaniard's comments at all.

"I heard Ander Herrera in the flash interviews saying the attitude and desire was poor. Oh my God. When a player says that, when a player feels that, I think they should all go to the press conference and explain why because I cannot explain that.

"I don't even remember a friendly match where our attitude was so poor. I feel really disappointed and if I was a Manchester United supporter, not a manager, I would be really disappointed."
Herrera was already struggling to get into the United team at the start of the season despite winning the Man United fans' Player of the Season award last term.

Reports had suggested Herrera and Mourinho's relationship had soured last season after the energetic midfielder invited a friend with close ties to Celta Vigo to the club's training ground, right before Mourinho's men were to face them in the Europa League.

One would think the Huddersfield slip-up wouldn't have helped their relationship, but Herrera sees things differently.
"We have a fantastic relationship, but what I said was that in the first 30 minutes they had a better attitude than us," Herrera said.

"That's what happened. But after that we had a good attitude and we were even close to drawing the game, which is not so easy after playing bad the first 30 minutes.
"But now we want to forget what happened on Saturday. We want to move forward for a massive game against Tottenham and try to win.

"After the defeat at Huddersfield, we needed good feelings back, because when you lose a game you want to play as quick as possible and play well."
The former Athletic Bilbao man seems focused on the challenge at hand, but will Mourinho trust him again this weekend?
